Arrival at NAU

Since something was wrong with the air plane and our bus hit a deer on our way to the NAU campus, we arrived 2 hours later than planned. In total the travel took around 26 hours but it went rather smooth. In the plain we had a whole library full of movies from which we could choose. I watched In the air, slept the during the whole movie of it is complicated and started sex and the city the movie until Big gets cold feet before the wedding.

After we arrived at the campus at 23:00 we moved into our rooms and went straight to bed. At around 3:00 I woke up with icicles hanging from my feet so I decided to wear socks the coming night but not tonight because I am to lazy to get up and put them on. (others even bought blankets and pillows at walmart …) For the rest our room has a closet without hangers, a desk, a drawer, air conditioning and a fridge. Internet connection is easier and faster than expected! J NICE!

At 7:00 a very sweet and familiar voice woke me up. Thijs was on the phone.
So honey how is Flagstaff??
I don’t know I haven’t seen much yet …

Well now I can tell u a bit more:

Time difference is 9h just so you know.
Temperatures varies from around 20° day time to around 0° night time.

The campus is huge. It is like a city with its own health center, super market, Starbucks, hotel, shops, library, beach volleyball and basketball court … you name it. Unfortunately most of it is closed and it is very quiet because all the American students have summer break.

The landscape is amazing the mountains are high, the sun is bright, the ground is red and the trees wear needles.

Today we had breakfast (many different choices from cereals, to egg, beacon, toast, fruit, pancakes, cookies, everything you want!!!!!!) then we got a tour around the campus and afterward we put our shorts on and laid in the grass to work on our tan. EXAUSTING!!! ;)

After lunch (choice between burger, pizza, mac+chees, salad) we walked all the way down town to discover Flagstaff. It is a small city which makes kind of a western impression. There are some bars and little stores but after you spent one afternoon there you have seen it all.

Everything is rather cheap except the alcohol … so I will stay sober tonight ;)
After dinner (choice between burger, pizza, meat loaf, salad) I am now writing on my blog and I will not stay up for much longer. Tomorrow we will be driving to Sedona where we will go swimming and do some sightseeing. I hope I can tell you more tomorrow.
