Today we went on our last day trip to visit the Grand Canyon. I was really overwhelmed by the size of the canyon and the view. It really was breath taking!

Our bus driver dropt us off at the visitor center from there we took the green rout which lead us east to the Yaki Point. There we stopped and enjoyed our packed lunch and the great view at the canyon.
Afterwards we traveled west. The blue rout took us through the park to the Yavapai observation station. On the way we encountered 2 elks which were grazing right next to the road. Arriving at the Yavapai station we got an even better view at the vast canyon that seemed to be painted on canvas. It was too nice and perfect to be true. Of course we had to use this amazing background for a little photo shoot.More images here

The Bright Angel Lodge was our meeting point where we got back on the bus that took us to the Desert View Station that is located about half an hour drive from the canyon. This place gave a fantastic view over the never ending dry and rocky land. After climbing up the stairs to the top of the 21 meter high Watch Tower the view was even better. The land seemed so wide and lonely. The only living creatures were birds up in the air.
Pictures of this will follow because my batteries went dead :(
Our tour ended with a stop at a huge souvenir shop where i bought a little gift for my family.
Tonight Maria, Anouke and me will go to the movies to see Sex and the City 2.
A really great day.
